You used AI to landscape your house. Now what?

Maybe you uploaded a photo of the front of your house and asked AI what would look good there.

It gave you a picture. Maybe a pretty good one.

But now you’re trying to turn that picture into an actual flower bed, and you’re still wondering: What should I plant here?

That’s where an AI image can leave a lot unanswered.

Are those plants something you can actually buy?

An AI image can show something that looks like a hydrangea, ornamental grass or flowering perennial. That doesn’t necessarily mean the picture was created using a specific plant you’ll be able to find at a garden center.

You shouldn’t have to walk around the garden center trying to find “that shrub with pink flowers from the picture”.

You should know what to buy.

Will they work in this spot?

Start with the basics. How much sun does the area get? How much room do you have? What needs to stay?

Then look beyond how the plants appear in the picture. Check how large they’ll get, whether they’re suited to your area and how much maintenance they’ll need.

Nursery-pot size can be deceiving. A plant that looks small when you buy it may need several feet of room once it’s established.

How many should you buy?

You can have the right plants and still end up with a flower bed that doesn’t look right.

Spacing a quantity matter.

Buy too few and the bed may look sparse. Crowd plants together to make it look finished right away and you may create problems as they grow.

Before heading to the garden center, you should know what you’re buying, how many you need and roughly where each group will go.

If the picture can’t tell you that, you still have some planning to do.

You can do that planning yourself

You can research the plants, check mature sizes, work out spacing and find varieties available to you.

If you’d rather spend your time planting, that’s the part Plant With a Plan can do for you.

We start with your actual space, growing conditions and what you want it to look like. Then we choose real plants that fit.

When a specific variety matters, we’ll tell you which one to look for. We also consider how realistic it is to find the plants we recommend, favoring well-established, broadly distributed choices when they’re also right for the plan.

You shouldn’t have to walk around the garden center trying to find “the small plant with purple flowers”.
