BEFORE

YOUR CONCEPT

We do the planning. You do the planting.

You don’t need to learn landscape design, use a planning app or figure our the right AI prompts We take your space, conditions, style and preferences and turn then into a planting direction created for your home.

1. We review your space

We look at your photos, growing conditions, existing landscape and preferences to understand what will work in your space.

2. We design your concept

We design around your conditions, using mature size, scale, repetition, color harmony and layering to create a cohesive planting direction.

3. You see what’s possible

You get a personalized visual concept for your actual space, so you can decide if it’s the direction you want to go.

Love the direction? Make it plantable.

Your free concept shows you what your space could become. If you’re ready to make it happen, the $39 Planting Plan gives you the details you need to plant it yourself.

You’ll know what plants to buy, how many you need, where each one goes and which specific varieties to look for when the exact choice matters.

Your Planting Plan Includes

Concept – your approved planting direction

Planting layout – exactly what goes where

Shopping list – specific plants, cultivars and quantities

Installation guide – spacing and practical guidance to get it planted

A plan you can shop from

A planting plan isn’t very useful if it only tells you to buy “a hydrangea” or “an ornamental grass”. The specific plant can make a big difference in the size, shape and overall look of your finished space.

When the exact choice matters, your plan identifies the species and cultivar to look for. WE favor plants that are reasonable obtainable from local garden centers and major retailers – without choosing availability over what actually works for your space.

Why the specific plant matters

A hydrangea might mature at 3 feet tall – or more than 6 feet tall. That difference affects how many you need, where they fit and what should be planted around them. Your plan accounts for mature sizes so you’re shopping for the plant the design was actually built for.

A $39 plan before a cart full of plants

Plants get expensive quickly. Buying too many, choosing something that will outgrow the space, or bringing home plants that don’t work together are easy ways to waste money. A $39 plan helps you shop with a plan before you fill the cart.

The goal is to help you buy the right plants, in the right quantities, with a plan for where they’ll go.

Questions? Start here.

Will I be able to find the plants in my plan?

We prioritize plants that are practical to find at local garden centers and major retailers when they’re a good fit for your space. Availability varies by location and season, so we can’t guarantee that a particular plant will be in stock when you shop.

What if my project is more complicated than a planting bed?

Plant With a Plan focuses on residential planting. Projects involving grading, drainage, retaining walls, structural work, utilities or other issues that require professional landscape or engineering services are outside the scope of the service.

How do you choose plants for my space?

We consider your location, growing conditions, available space, preferences and the mature size and form of the plants. We also consider how the plants work together as a complete design.

Can I keep plants that are already there?

Yes. Tell us what needs to stay, what can go and anything you’d like to replace. We’ll plan around the existing landscape you want to keep.

Do I need exact measurements?

Not to get started. Approximate dimensions are usually enough for your free concept. If we need better measurements to create an accurate planting layout, we’ll ask for them before completing your Planting Plan.

Do I have to design anything myself?

No. You don’t need to draw a plan, learn landscape design software or figure out the right prompts. You send us your photos and information about the space. We create the concept and, if you purchase a Planting Plan, the detailed plan. We do the planning. You do the planting.

Is the planting concept really free?

Yes. Send us your photo and a few details about your space, and we’ll create a personalized visual concept at no cost. You can see the direction before deciding whether you want a full Planting Plan.
